Science of Energy Flow Foot Reflexology
WHAT TO EXPECT?
SEF Foot Reflexology is a traditional healing modality that has been used throughout the ages to heal the mind, body, and spirit by increasing the energy flow or light in the body. While it may seem that the SEF Foot Reflexology practitioner is merely ‘pushing’ points on or rubbing the feet, a SEF treatment is much more than either of those activities.
The intent of the SEF treatment is to move energy in the body creating change that can lead to overall healing. Most people unfamiliar with SEF Foot Reflexology will often ask,
“What can I expect from a foot treatment with you?”
The basic SEF treatment begins with a warm foot bath (with the client choosing a plant remedy will be used in the bath).
During the 5-10 minutes used for the footbath, I spend time talking with the client to determine if there are any health challenges that they are currently facing. The feet are dried with small hand towels and the client is invited to relax on a warmed massage table
(fully clothed except shoes and socks).
A specially chosen essential oil blend is used to anoint the feet prior to beginning the actual foot treatment.
The client relaxes for 30-40 minutes while the energy centers of the feet are systematically worked in an attempt to re-set the body’s responses to stress and environmental stimuli. Following the treatment, the feet are ‘sealed’ with a warm castor oil wrap/pack allowing the client to relax undisturbed for 5-10 minutes.
Once the packs are removed, the client is invited to have water or tea and reflect on their experience with the SEF Foot Reflexology Treatment. The ability of this simple modality to create energy movement and change is remarkable.
